Chapter 2: The Soul of A Genius

"Alright GUY. Tell me. What do you think about what's happening to Genius right now?"

[Would you like to hear my earlier prediction before someone recorded the current events?]

"Yes"

[It was bound to be filled in chaos.]

My suspicions were not alone considering who won the war. Still, I got to know what kind of data my prisoners have found.

"So what happened?"

[Its civilization had developed faster than Earth]

"Your joking right?"

[Hear it for yourself]

~After the victory of Walker, the tribe had increased although Walker seemed to be aging slowly. He wasn't getting older like a normal person. Once he had enough  people who had experienced the ritual he revealed the truth about his power and the reason the rituals had to be done.

He started with the story of the time he went to the forest. He was hunting for some food. He was midway in the forest, but the sun shone brightly. He concluded it was noon. He decided to find anything to eat as fast as he could. he ran quickly looking for anything that he could find. He saw some branches cracking, some flying animals leaving. he felt like he was in a Tolkien novel. He felt like here were magical creatures, so he made a bet.

The first thing he did was to try to find any nymphs or elves or dwarves, but he failed. The next thing that happened was magical. A spirit had entered his body. It called itself Chris. Chris told Walker that there is an entire realm full of spirits. He decided to enter Walker , because he wanted to try an experiment.  The experiment was to see what would happened if a spirit entered his body.

Chris had heard stories of ghost entering a human body and the ghost completely controls the body. He wanted to have some fun at that time, so they did. It seems that Chris found out that Walker isn't a normal person, because his mind is so powerful that he cannot be controlled. Chris thought that Walker was powerful, but Walker thought that his tribe's ideologies had caused this.~

"Stupid is the new smart right?

[I don't know, but then again I know. Let your lackey tell you what is happening.]

~It turns out that Walker had his theories. He asked Chris what does he have now that a spirit is in his body. Chris responded saying that his experiment had just started. He then asked Walker to punch a tree.It hurts. Chris then told him to hit it again. To his amazement he was faster and stronger. He barely felt any pain.

Walker then formulated what he called the theory of layers. He reasoned that his soul was inside a body. Chris was an outside soul, therefore outside his body. He then reasoned that Chris for some reason takes the damage, but due to his body in a non physical form, could not feel anything.~

"Wow this guy is pretty dumb. If it doesn't even physically protect him, why does it physically protect him?"

[It's just his theory. you can't really blame considering what he has done. Then again, he is a tactical genius...wait. Not really]

"What do you mean?"

[Just listen. You could be seeing it live, but then you wouldn't watch it yourself. Instead you decided that hearing about them was better.]

~Chris thought this was stupid.~

"I like Chris already. Plus he has a normal name."

~Walker thought that his theory made sense, but the later parts of his theory had been formulated. He reasoned that a tree has a soul. Chris immediately tells him that a tree is technically alive, but it doesn't explain why the body itself was damage. Walker then proceeded to continue talking about his theory.

Walker argued that the tree felt the damage due to Chris, but not physically. The tree felt it sort of mentally instead. The actual damage was when Walker punched it.By that time, his own soul had done some damage.~

"That makes no sense."

~Chris told him to jump off a cliff to prove him wrong. It turns out that Walker was crazy enough to do it. Walker had looked for a cliff for two hours, then he jumped.

It was quite a miracle. Walker wasn't injured at all. There was not a single scratch on his body. This was quite a breakthrough when Chris thought that the theory of layers was appropriate, but he disagreed with most of the things he talked about.

Chris argued that the reason Walker was extremely capable was due to the fact that he had formed some kind of connection neurologically. Chris then thought that he had entered another planet, because he feels different in this body. He pointed out that the body may look like something from his native race, but was entirely different neurologically.

The neurological connection was somehow different in terms of how they affect a soul. Chris started with the fact that his native race had a different neurological structure, therefore his race's brains can be easily manipulated by a soul. The soul of that body may fight back, but it takes an effort due to the fact that they are equals.

Walker's race was an entirely different matter. Their brains somehow had more brain activity that it progressed quite quickly compared to Chris' native race. That doesn't exactly mean that they are smarter, but Chris thinks it affects their progress and the hidden potential they have. Chris then continued that a different effect had happened. His soul infused with Waker's extreme neurological activity had completely made something sort of like a force field. He then talked about how the only way to equal it is if the enemy has the exact number of souls as they have. he concluded the force field or layers had created slightly enhanced strength and invulnerability.

Walker then asked how do they earn more souls. He also asked if it was possible if Chris can take over his body and how much effort he has to exert. Chris did his best, but somehow couldn't take control. Walker then decided that the best method was to find a way to get another soul in his body. Chris somehow can find another in his realm, but it will take time. Walker then decided that the best method was to learn how to harvest them.

He first established what he can't do. He can't find the single most populated place of souls, but then Chris suddenly told him that there are certain locations where there are more souls. Chris claims that as far as the galaxy is concerned, they are in the most populated planet. He then told Walker that it would take more neurological activity in order for Walker to get a soul to go to him if he is farther from the soul.

Walker then said what if there are weaker souls that are easier to harvest. He then asked what if the stronger souls are harder to control. Chris did not answer. He said that he was new in becoming a soul, therefore he doesn't know that much.

Walker then proceeded to make sure that a process in harvesting souls was made. He then thought that a stronger soul will produce a greater force field if the user has the right amount of control. Chris then concluded that a person with a stronger neurological activity can tame stronger souls and can make more layers. Chris also said the only way more neurological activity can happen is if the user frequently uses his brain.

Walker was now enraged. That would mean that the opposing tribe can control more souls, because it had people who kept thinking. Chris then encouraged him by saying that instincts use the subconscious part of the brain therefore there is a chance that Walker's tribe is using the brain more than the opposing tribe.

Now this is when their quest to test their theories had begun, but first they needed to find a soul or at least learn to harvest a soul. Walker started with praying. Chris only felt a presence that somehow compelled him to do something, but it only made him feel that he should assist him, but for some reason a sudden surge of souls came, but they did nothing.

Walker then tried something else. He prayed for a fruit. The souls suddenly made thing clearer, but then they did not really approach him. They suddenly changed the ambiance that somehow made thing clearer.

Chris then suggested something slightly advanced. Chris thought him the fundamentals of meditation and after a few months, Walker's neurological activity dramatically rose. Chris realized that this is supposed to be what makes the monks unable to feel the distraction around them. Walker then asked Chris about the soul activity. For some reason, he and other souls are more attracted, but are not enough to harvest them.

The next thing that he did was to try making an exact ritual. Walker was convinced that prayer and meditation attracts souls. Meditation increases the activity in a way. Prayer somehow gives him slight authority, but the authority comes from somewhere else. He then thought about meditating for a long time to attract them, then he said some kind of mantra that was repeated for a sufficiently long time that souls were attracted to him. He then managed to make his neurological level spike when a soul is close enough in order to get the soul.

Chris asked how he did that, but that was a question for a later time, because Walker had finally harvested a soul. The first thing that happened was a slight conflict. Walker had gotten a weaker soul. He needed to get something stronger, so he decided to do something else. He let the soul go wild. he asked Chris to assist him and then Walker did his best to do almost no neurological activity at all.The soul was somehow escaping. He needed to contain it so he strengthened it a bit.Walker then asked Chris to take over his body for one entire night.

The next day, Walker was in a different place. Chris told him that his head needs to retain some amount of activity in order for him to stay in control. Chris tried this before, but failed. With another soul, he was able to control for a few moments until the two souls had a conflict. Chris then tried to explain the situation and for once they were in unison. They walked for about a mile until they were tired from concentrating too much.

Walker then needed to find out how to obtain a stronger soul. Chris said that the only difference between the souls was pure willpower and knowledge. Chris concluded that people who had used their brains a lot before becoming souls were stronger, but that doesn't mean that a soul cannot learn. Chris said that he needs a body to develop faster, but Walker wanted the opinion of Chris on their unexpected discovery.

Chris said he just needed something to develop into a greater soul. Willpower is easy to attain, but more knowledge and wisdom was an entirely different subject.Plus the entire point of doing that is to increase his brain activity to be a greater remnant of the activity inside the brain.~

Interesting. This is a switch of perspective. Basically, a soul is a remnant of the activity in your brain. For some reason, Chris isn't revealing his past. I need more data on how this works and Genius is the best planet to observe. There are more interesting planets based on the description of each Vlog that I read, but so far this may give some data about the so called afterlife.

Reincarnation seems to be plausible now. Nirvana or heaven seems less probable, but more data is needed to prove it. This a great time to investigate. I may need to go there, but I feel way too lazy. I guess my tribute to MST3K will have to wait. Right now I need to investigate.

A spike in the activity of the mind needs a lot. Also I need to find someone who is smart enough or something. I can't go back to my planet, because...everyone hates me. I don't know anyone...Of course. I know exactly who can do this, but I need a time machine. Damn, it was harder than I thought.

I also need to test this theory. The theory of frequency applied to...souls. I think I know exactly how psychics do their thing. These so called souls have reach a certain point that they have reached a different frequency the moment an organism dies. In order to be able to see or at least sense these souls, they need to have the right frequency or at least enough neurological activity. The frequency would be the amount of their neurological activity. There needs to be certain activity to sense them.

Souls are like...radios? Humans are 94.1 or something while souls are like 99.5. I think if they represent a radio station it would be a lot easier. The human will need to go to 99.3 or anything near 99.5 to interact directly with them. For some reason, a radio station isn't the perfect example, because the souls can actually sense the humans. That alien race, for the sake of the argument, is about 99.0 in terms of neurological activity. They only need to increase it by praying or meditating, but it needs to reach 99.5 in order to directly interact or at least harvest them.

That would mean psychics are smarter or at least have more brain activity, but how? Of course. There are stories that some of them were struck by lightning which somehow explains...holy. That explains them. I have to build that time machine.

[You thinking about something? You were drooling for five minutes.]

"Wha- No. Definitely not."

[Right. I'm sure your thinking of...you know]

"Shut up and roll the clip."

~Things now seem good for Walker. He suddenly admitted that as Chris had no body, he had less activity or power. The moment he entered Walker's body, his soul was not losing any part of itself. As Walker improved his neurological activity, Chris somehow got stronger. Chris thought there was a positive correlation between the amount of neurological activity of a body and the strength of a soul even when it's not his own.

One day, Walker had finally perfected his ritual and decided to return to his village. He now has about five souls. He still needs to learn how to control all five of them before he could add one more.

The moment he went back to the village, he saw chaos. The different people had no sense of order during that time and Chris decided that Walker should be the leader. He first tried to collect his thoughts. He first went to see his mother. On his way, there were fights all over town. He somehow remembers every single one of them, but right now he can't afford to lose any time.

He immediately rushed back to his house and saw his mother extremely thin and really hungry. He is amazed at his mother's willpower. Somehow she was able to survive very long. All he felt was guilt at that moment and it was the time for a flashback. Yes Founder, a flashback within a flashback within a log that recalls the past that technically is a flashback. This is the closest thing we have to Inception.

He remembered the time he was with his parents. he was quite a reckless boy like his peers. He only realized this when he remembered the first thing he did in every fight. He literally fought back. He realized that his tribe was far more primitive than he thought. He realize that it was probably a mistake to leave his parents, but then this was pretty common with kids when petty arguments evolved into something that may be likened to war.

He then realized the reason for this chaos. Their lack of sympathy due to their immediate reaction using violence was the reason. The other tribe left due to their lack of diplomacy. They were right in leaving them. He realized that if they stayed, they will have to stop every fight almost everyday. He suddenly had this insight when he started to meditate.

He then thought about the solution. He needed to instill values that a primitive tribe does not have, but he asked how. Chris suddenly told him his origins. He was a major in an army. They had a sense of integrity that unified them. This was the reason that many people who were with him died to protect their country. Chris died in a war to protect those people he loved.

Walker thought about how love was evident in this tribe, but was somehow weak. That would be required. Chris said that the only way to stop this is to change the way they think of justice. They need to understand mercy and forgiveness. They also need to forget retributive justice for a while. Walker then wondered what exactly happened when the opposing tribe left. For some reason, all of this was undone and he needed to ask his parents.

The first thing he did was go back to the forest and get some food for his mother. It took about two days for the mother to recover. She first told him about what exactly happened to the village and how his father passed away. It all started three years after Walker left. There was a rowing tension that people were getting too old. For some reason, their instincts told them that they need more, so they copulated.

Several years had passed after that and more kids left. This had enraged them when majority of their supplies were taken by a bunch of kids.To make matters worse, majority of the people were getting old. People rarely tried to hunt and then disaster struck. A hurricane destroyed all of their crops and there were only few houses left with food. This took place in a few months. They had no time to recover after their supplies got stolen.

There was also an epidemic, so people were afraid to go and hunt. It was natural for them to stay and eat food that they thought was clean. This went well for a while until the rest of the village started scavenging. Their instincts told them to attack everyone else in order to survive. They merely justified it as revenge when they were kids. His father had to fight them off in order to survive, because they were one of the few people who had some food left.

She was able to hide some food before they killed him and stole everything. She was able to survive for a few days when she started starving. Walker suddenly returned on the second day after she ran out of food. There was a nearby water supply that kept her alive for a while.

Walker then asked what happened to the village itself. His mother responded by saying it was pure chaos and it will get worse until somebody resolves this problem. The first thing Walker wondered was how could they have a difficult time when he barely exerted any effort going back.

He then thought about retracing his steps. He still couldn't see why. Instead he thought about why they didn't take his route. It turns out that the area was considered to be infected. They avoided it at all cost. He then decided to find a way to prove to them that it is safe, but that is the problem. They probably won't see the proof unless they felt it themselves.

He suddenly had the impulse to attack them. He first approach about ten people fighting each other. He fought them with ease and immediately threw them to the area thought to be infected.Naturally, nothing happened to these villagers and then they all noticed. They all rushed to the forest in order to gather some food.

This bought Walker some time and Chris had a plan. Chris immediately told Walker that he has powers from a god. Walker thought he was crazy. How could he possible prove it? Chris just told him that he doesn't have to. He only needs to show surprisingly powerful abilities.

Walker first announced that he was a prophet sent by god. This had people's attentions, but he needed to prove it. Luckily, a veteran soldier approached him. He was a tall man with a lot of scars near his face. He looks extremely muscular for his age. He somehow resembles Hulk Hogan only with a lot of scars. The soldier calls himself the Despair Finisher. Walker remembered a vague description of him from the war stores.

The Despair Finisher was one of the most ruthless and merciless fighters in the tribe. He was the last of the Crenagons. Apparently, he was a young lad when he joined the Crenagons. The Crenagons had a big fight against opposing tribes before the tribes separated.

The fight against different tribes all have one thing in common. The Crenagons usually left the battlefield full of corpses, They were an elite team that was never beaten. In the end they separated when the two tribes separated. During the separation the Despair Finisher was a middle aged man. The other members were in their sixties or seventies. The Despair Finisher was always known to be the cocky one, but he became as he got older. He was always the agile one.

Now that he is older, he decided to train a lot harder and taught himself to fight without too much movement. He stayed in his hut when the town was in chaos. He did not want to fight anymore and no one would even dare to fight him, so he was pretty safe for a while. He had a lot supplies since he was luckily prepared before the town was in chaos.

He heard a pretty loud voice declaring that claims to be sent from a god. He worshipped a god that only the Crenagons worshipped. He was quite angry and immediately rushed to the town and saw Walker.

Walker somehow knew this part of the story. It was actually due to what a soul had told him. He harvested a soul two days before he told the villagers his story. The soul was actually none other than the Despair Finisher. He decided that he will make an important proclamation on a reform, but he must tell his tale to the people.

Walker got back to the story after telling them about the previous sentence. I am sorry Founder for any fourth wall jokes I made.~

"I love this guy. Tell me what's his name and I'll give him a promotion."

[Promoted to what exactly?]

"I'll come up with something at some point. After all some business men make up jobs to get good people."

[His code number is-]

"I want to you to give me a name"

[It's not like someone forgot to  program me to randomly generate names.]

"Make a random name."

[Bruce?]

"I guess it's satisfying enough that you made a Batman reference."

[How is it funny that you made a reference to a comic book character? That name was randomly generated, so it was merely a coincidence.]

"I thought you said that you couldn't randomly generate names."

[No, but I can program and tweak myself. Remember.]

"Wait so can you program yourself to-"

[I'm switching his name to Alan.]

"Why?"

[Alan Moore is the author of Watchmen. I think it would be appropriate, because I don't know. Maybe something like...Oh yes, You forced him to watch the history of a planet for your own entertainment, because you picked him at random.]

"Roll the clip."

~The next thing the town knew was that there was a fight in front of them. The Despair Finisher charged at Walker. This was Walker's first time to fight, so he was hit several time. The blows were strong. The wind whistles to the force of the Despair Finisher. Walker was immediately beaten. He immediately concentrated. The next few blows dealt by the Despair Finisher were not even felt. On the contrary, the Despair Finisher feels like he was losing his power. Walker explained this was psychological, but it worked for him for a long time.

Walker then started to attack the Despair Finisher. He made a few kicks that barely landed. The Despair Finisher thought agility might be the only thing he has left. The Despair Finisher immediately rushed at Walker. He first landed a few punches, but he didn't stop. He landed three hooks then did an uppercut. He didn't even look. He was fighting like it was a life and death situation. He was able to make three tornado kicks. He never thought this was possible, but his adrenaline somehow allowed him. He started to fell fatigue, so he immediately backflipped, then he hit a wall and landed a front flip on Walker.

The next thing that the Despair Finisher saw had made him cry. Walker did not feel a thing. Walker immediately attacked knowing that Despair Finisher was tired. He landed a flying kick, then finished him off with an uppercut. The town was shocked when Walker defeated a Crenagon like he was an amateur. They immediately believed every word he said and the reforms had began. The only reform he actually did was to instill values and to place a soul in each newborn. Other than that, he basically trained every villager personally how to fight. It turns out that Chris thought Walker when no one was looking. Chris had been his adviser and his best friend.

One day, Walker decided to try harvesting an insect soul. He didn't like what information it brought. Although he was successful in controlling an insect soul, he had seen that this fly was killed when a squadron was walking in the woods with weapons.

He immediately told people to guard the entire town. This had lead to the squadron killed. Chris told him that they probably will not have diplomatic intentions if all of them have weapons ready. Chris also told him that they need to know what technology the enemy has. Chris concluded that they will attack next time. Chris told him that they need to set up some areas for defense in order to save themselves.

The next day, the villagers brought an odd device. Chris told Walker that it is a compass and all he could say is that it will be bad news. Walker asked why. Chris told him that a compass has a magnet, but magnets attract metal, but he remembered that a research was conducted and the result was astonishing. The only thing that he could say is that it disrupts thinking and neurological activity. This means there might be some negative effect on the souls he uses and himself. He may not be able to use souls if there was a magnet in his head. Walker asked if all of it was bad news, but he saw a wheel. Chris said that they could use it.

The next few days were devoted to making a wall that could move. The basically built a giant wooden wall then built a cart behind it. This allows the wall to be moved. This also gives them the defense they need. Chris said that they probably have bows and arrows and his predictions came true.

Walker was taking a stroll near a watchtower and he saw the corpses of his men. Chris pointed out an arrow and he immediately rushed back to the village and told them to go behind the wall. Chris said they need a roof, but they don't have one, so Walker asked the villagers to take any walls that could be removed immediately and make a roof. They somehow were able to make it in a few hours. They were able to rest for five hours until they someone woke him up with a very worried face. It seems that there were some arrows on their roof.

Walker immediately ordered everyone to grab their weapons. About thirty minutes later, the enemy had arrived and this was the day of the final battle between the two tribes.

After the opposing tribe surrendered, he added souls to every child that was born.Walker finished his tale by telling them how he harvests souls. He taught them how to exercise their heads. He also taught them the most important part. He taught them his ritual on how to harvest souls.

A little boy approached him and asked why. Walker suddenly shouted. Everyone approached him and he told everyone that he is going to remove his soul from his body and announced what the next thing that will happen. There will be a tournament where everyone will fight. Whoever has two or more souls can join the tournament in order to obtain his soul, but more importantly rule the entire tribe. Whoever can control him will rule. The tournament will go on until someone can control him.

This had shocked everyone. The next day, he started to harvest more souls. He was writhing in agony after that, but then he seemed normal the next day. An old man approached him and asked what he was doing and Walker told the old man that he is preparing for the tournament. This had perplexed the old man, but then he continued. He said that he is dramatically raising his brain activity to make sure the next leader is truly capable.

After two decades, Walker decided to challenge the ten best fighters in town to fight with him. Every hit did not hurt him. They understood that only an extremely powerful soul user can control him. Even if someone wins the tournament now, they won't be able to control him.

Walker told Chris goodbye before he told everyone to gather in the town hall. He revealed the device that can keep his soul preserved. He asked everyone to come to the front.Walker stood centimeters away from the device. He told them to take his soul and transfer it to the device. He wants to make sure his soul is powerful when it is in the device. Due to the lack of space only the five best fighters tried to transfer his soul, but it was extremely hard for them. They asked for help, so ten of the best were transferring , then twenty. It continued until they had decided that it was harder than they thought.

They had gotten some rope and tied him from the rope. This had kept Walker suspended in mid air while somebody was holding the table that had the device on top. In the end, everyone in town had took part in transferring Walker to the device.

After Walker's soul was placed in the device, they gave Walker's body a proper burial. They made sure it was the most glorious burial. It meant that their old leader was gone, but the new leader will be someone great who can lead them. They decided to call the device The King's Capsule.

End Transmission~

"Wait, how did two decades pass?"

[Don't you remember?]

"No"

[You are using a time probe to capture these events, so that only the most relevant will be chosen.]

"Wait. I have a time machine."

[No, you have a machine that can travel throughout time... Of course it's a time machine.]

"Why didn't you tell me?"

[Why didn't you remember something like that?]

"I don't know. Uhhh... Someone must have attached a magnet on my head or something."

[You definitely can not become the leader of Genius]

It seems that the events that had happened today have told me one important thing. I can start that experiment, but I have to make sure GUY will not know.
