Memory

Have you forgotten something? If you did, you're wrong. You never forget anything. Ever.

Our brains are like libraries. Incredibly disorganized ones, so we need to make sure that it's organized enough. My problem is that I always remember the point, which makes me bad at quoting someone.

When I look at a device, I get pissed off when I can barely comprehend. Who has the time to memorize what each button does? Why can't they help the library? Just make it easy for us to be reminded without forcing us to reread those words.

The worst part is when some things require you to remember to press several buttons at the same time. How are we suppose to know? I'm fine with stuff that has many features that are a bit hard to use as long as I could use it immediately months after I stopped using it.

A better suggestion is to just destroy it and put the features that we need. Who the heck still uses a phone that requires you to press three buttons to redial?

Strip it to the essentials and make it easy for us to remember. Our brains are already loaded with too much information and we can't organize it.

Inconsistent

You know some people probably won't believe you when you suddenly change drastically. This is obviously thanks to the others who are scheming.

I have been naive while I was growing up. I never know why, but I have this tendency to accidentally hit someone. I have no idea why, but maybe I'm just unlucky or something.

That's why I believe that when someone hurts you, it's probably unintentional with some obvious exceptions.

People always go defensive when your way of thinking changes suddenly. This happens to me a lot, but people usually don't buy it.

I actually do understand the "inconsistent" people. I think these are people with an open mind, but if it happens frequently, I think they have no ideology to defend and are always open.

Of course, we have to be cautious of the machiavellian people, but I see more people who are just too open to learning and can't stick to a gun.

You First

When you're gonna do something that you probably have to do, but you somehow can't find time to pursue your dreams after doing them, then do the opposite.

Instead of making that lame spreadsheet about extremely boring stuff first, why not do something that will help fulfill your dreams or at least something that matters to you more.

Instead of trying to do something where someone else benefits from, why not help yourself first?

Instead of spending on things that you won't use, why not invest first? The salesman will be pissed off, but you need to prioritize.

Instead of crunching all those numbers for your work, why not write that novel first? You can probably do it later.

Do this for your own sake, because after you did those, you're probably tired. Instead, do what you want to do and they will shout and force you to finish their work. You have more motivation by that time. Just do your work first, only you can motivate yourself. They'll motivate you to work for them.

Alter ego

There is a point when you must see yourself as something different. Maybe it's just your fantasy, but it does reveal something about yourself.

Try thinking that you had two personalities. What would you name him? How does he think? This somehow shows your desires, goals and ambitions.

Try switching personalities for some situations. Like at home your, a lazy guy who wants to relax and have fun, but when you write a novel, you're the most badass guy on the planet.

This works well when you somehow need to reconsider how you act in a situation. You know where you suck, so let the genius take care of it.

Then What

So your a billionaire now, what are you gonna do next. You have already fulfilled your dreams, so what are you gonna do with the money? Buy a car house and all the cool toys, but then what's next?

When you think about it that way, you may start to realize that the dream may not be yours after all. After all, society has some really neat tricks in brainwashing you to want something else.

When you think about what you really want, your goals start to change and maybe you will feel that you will do something greater than you did before.

Repeating Manifestos

Remember how I said that you should make it a daily habit of writing manifestos? At some point you would have told us every single part of your philosophy.

Now you might think about changing it, so you can write more, but then you will miss the point. The more obvious option is to stop.

Here's the good news. You can repeat it as much as you want. It doesn't matter if people stop reading it, because it's pretty much common sense that you can't drastically change the way you think almost everyday.

I think that it is better if we repeat it in a certain way. Other than choosing the copy and paste option, you could follow up with the previous ones.

Another way is to take that concept and apply a different perspective. You slowly change everyday, so your manifesto still has your style, but has a slightly different message.

Creating

You know creating something with value is fun. I think writing is fun and I get to develop some skills and if i become famous, I'm rich.

Money somehow doesn't matter when you create something great. It is it's own merit and it is fun on it's own.

Besides, you are leaving great value in this world that will scar the world for it's greatness

Big Baby

As a kid, we all thought our parents have everything figured out. It is somehow like the adult world has their extremely enlarged brains that you somehow feel undermined. When they say they don't know your lesson, you feel so smart.

Enter adulthood and you pretty much just got a few life changing experiences, but you somehow got dumber even if you have better experiences.

When you were a kid, you were pretty damn creative and now you can't doodle right?!

We could pretty much blame the educational system, but at least they tried to improve to help you "innovate".

Adults somehow even want to relearn childhood. They even miss it so much, but I don't see a time machine soon.

The thing is in someways you get smarter and dumber as you grow up. Once you reach the "intellectual age", your wondering why did you think a person this old is smart.

DNA

The properties of DNA are extremely applicable to a lot of things. It's pretty darn amazing. The irony is that DNA, the one that differentiates us from each other, tells us something about the human race.

DNA has tons of similarities with one another. There is this extremely small percent of a difference, yet it's entirely different.

As humans, whether you like it or not, have tons of similarities with each other. A good example is this: We all think we are unique. You think that other people who you barely know like the ones in the subway station are wasting their time. They have no idea about the great impact of your art. It turns out majority of people think like that. If you think that you aren't unique, you are ironically different and therefore much more unique than the majority.

As the human race, we are all unique with our own identities. No two people can have the exact experience. No two people can have the same problem(at least in the way they are seeing it in their perspective), they just have extremely similar ones.

We all have almost the exact same feeling about everything. Even terrorists think they are doing the right thing. There are differences in views here and there, but the underlying motives are somewhat extremely similar.

We all look at the extremely tiny differences, yet we somehow fail to see the extremely big number of similarities.

Memento

500 years from now, your descendants probably don't know you. I don't know who mine were, but someone else might know.

How come famous people, good and bad, were remembered? They did something that scarred the world beyond what we knew. We don't know any formula for doing that with our families.

Autobiographies might help, but make sure it is easy to preserve and readable after a certain time.

Someone has to narrate your adventure and I don't think my name is going to the history books anytime soon.

There are two good ways to be remembered for a long time.

1. Scar the world beyond what anyone would expect(do something that will be written down in history books.)

2. Write an autobiography that will be readable after several generations and have it reproduced every few generations.

Do this to prevent a fate worse than death and to let your family be proud of you(at least acknowledge you) for generations to come.

You're an idiot

Look back on the things that happened years ago. Ask yourself if anyone of them are significant now. Now ask yourself "Was that the smart?"

Turns out, the greatest lesson you could learn from life is...You are an idiot.

All the moves you made when you were nineteen was a waste of time when you think about it now.

Almost every experienced adult I met says this and when I think about it in a certain context, it's true.

I'm not saying this actually applies to everyone, but the majority (like me and probably you) don't have that luxury.

In the end, the only thing that you think was a smart move during that time was doing what you always dreamed of.

If you want to know how it works, it sort of goes like this. The bamboo-like thing can be removed. You soak it in water and it pretty much does photosynthesis. Yes, the power source is like a leaf.

Thinking like Spock

Remember those incredibly weird personality tests? Yeah, thought so. You want to look smart. Ask yourself what would Spock do if he encountered this question. Instant mastermind or whatever score.

That's what you should do when you want to reinvent yourself. Reinventing yourself may seem something that a young adults novel would discourage, but hey, was Pillars of the Earth a young adult novel?

The point of reinventing yourself is to let you become an entirely different entity, but don't become who you want to be. Seriously, do you want to be like the stereotypical fat guy who just happens to appear in every movie.

Reinvent yourself to become who you want to become, not yourself. Besides, you can prove to be more flexible than you thought. You may not notice it, but there are times where you suck.

The great part of reinventing yourself is that everyone still isn't used to you, so expect them to make tons of mistakes. You will discover a part of yourself that was actually suppressed the entire time.

You will also realize a part of your true self in the process. There. Happy now, young adult novels?

Note: Mindset is more important than methods. When you think about what would a person would do, it is easier than thinking what the manual said.

Build bridges not toll gates

Bridges. They connect. They somehow blend in more naturally.

Toll gates. They feel like they were forced to put there. It lowers the chances that you will cross it.

When you try to create something. Do not try to make it forced. Make it enhance naturally with what's already there.

Make sure that the incentives are good enough that they will actually try it.

There are times when there is something that expects you to adapt to it. That will never work out. It takes a while to get used to . You need that great first impression.

Make it accessible. Make it natural. Make sure that we will enjoy it. You must if you expect someone to use it.

Ghost Ideas

Remember the time you had an idea for this awesome company and then you find out it does exist and it wasn't you who made it. It was some guy living in a mansion and stuff.

Pretty much everyone has this feeling. You technically can't sue them, because they never even met you.

The bad news is that ideas are like ghosts. They don't stick to you. If you don't do it, someone else will. The idea just goes to that person. It lingers around and begs you to create what the idea suggests. If you don't, it leaves you.

This happened to me a lot of times. (Warning: I will talk about myself. Skip this paragraph if you do not want to hear a 15 year old kid rant.) I won't go specific, but I had ideas several years ago that I see now. I should have made it when I had the chance, but I keep getting ideas for tech and gaming related stuff, but I don't know programming. Now, I'm learning Ruby and I suck, so if anyone can help me learn, please help me. I've tried other languages and Ruby is my favorite so far.

Now you need to do it now. Now because you are the only person who could do it, but because it will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Habitfesto

Now you may ask why do I talk about these things. These vague somewhat unoriginal concepts. Of course you may be aware that there is nothing original. That everything is merely a connection.

Of course that may be the one reason that you will do what I want you to start doing now. I call it the Habitfesto. Basically, I want you to make it a habit in writing manifestos everyday.

You might be wondering why. The reason is how much at actually helps you. Now only does it clarify your life's philosophy, but it also helps you see the gradual evolution of it and to spread the ideas that you think deserve people's attention.

It helps me, because I am starting to have a clear idea of my goals, but also my views. It helps me clearly write what I want to say and I am kinda helping you guys get introduced into some concepts.

I'm not saying you change your life's philosophy to write a manifesto everyday. Every thing that happens to you now changes the way you think, so you could see the gradual change. Also, you can get a clearer idea of your goals.

Not everything I write I actually get to do everyday. There are tons of moments you can be off guard. Instead, it comes from those brief moments of enlightenment you want to happen everyday. When you write them everyday, it somehow becomes part of your DNA.

Bridging the consciousness gap

I wondered what makes something funny for a few minutes. Aristotle(or some old dude) said humor Is unexpected. Some recent research said humor is benign.

Of course there are flaws like why do we laugh even if we already know the joke. Why does it take longer for us to laugh at a very creative, witty and unexpected joke? If funny means nobody actually gets hurt, why do people enjoy watching FAIL videos even if they know people get hurt a lot?

I came up with a possible one. Aristotle(or some old dude) is partially correct. Humor is unexpected, but only when our subconscious understands it. Even if we consciously know the joke, our subconscious doesn't and that makes a big difference.

So humor is unexpected and applies when our subconscious actually gets it.

Same applies to habits. You need your subconscious to understand in order for you to actually make it a habit. Repeating a task continuously let's it sink in into our subconscious
