Manga PhD of the Day: Japan’s Kyoto Seika University plans to launch a manga studies doctoral program, the first of its kind in Japan. The university already offered a master’s degree in Japanese comics, and had apparently received overseas requests for a PhD program.

The manga doctorate will start next year with an enrollment of four students.

I guess they’ll be taking a lot of … Death Notes?
